Impact Accounting NQ is an accounting, taxation and business advisory service firm in Atherton, Far North Queensland. Established in 2018 by Principal, Tania Floreancig, who recognised the need for a firm to provide personalised, proactive and professional services to small and medium sized businesses. Unlike firms who just deal with the numbers, our firm have a reputation for providing professional services in a friendly, personal and easy to understand manner. We maintain a close relationship with our clients and all staff of the firm make themselves readily available for phone, email and face to face contact.

Principal
Tania is the Principal and Owner, bringing together decades of experience in public accounting, business advisory, and financial strategy. Commencing her career as an accounting assistant in Malanda, becoming a partner in an accounting firm for over 13 years before establishing Impact Accounting NQ in 2018. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Accounting from The University of New England and is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants and the Tax Institute, whilst holding a Public Practice Certificate through the IPA and being a Registered Tax Agent. With a deep commitment to helping clients build long-term wealth and grow sustainable businesses, Tania goes beyond compliance to offer strategic insight and hands-on coaching that drives real results. Having worked with businesses across a range of industries, she understands the challenges faced by small to medium enterprises—and how to turn financial data into smarter decisions. Whether it’s tax planning, cash flow improvement, or growth strategy, her passion is to help clients move from reactive to proactive, from surviving to thriving.

Jo has been employed by Impact Accounting NQ since it began in 2018. Previously she was employed by another accounting firm for over 10 years. With Jo’s vast experience in public accounting, her focus is to help clients with lodgement compliance and accounting software matters.

After completing a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Taxation Tracey returned to the Tablelands to start her career in Atherton with a long-standing local accounting firm. Since starting her family in 2001, Tracey has managed to keep her hand in the taxation and accounting profession whilst juggling her busy family life and playing a very active role in her and her husband’s business. With her outstanding work ethic, strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in public practice, Tracey provides high-quality accounting and advisory services delivering results that add real value to our clients.
Accountant
With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from CQ University, Kim is a key member of our senior accounting team. Focused on small business in various sectors, she has a natural understanding of numbers, and a genuine passion for helping business owners stay on top of their accounting obligations. Kim is especially valued by our small business clients for her approachable manner, clear communication, and commitment to making things simple. Whether it’s breaking down a report or identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, Kim is already delivering above and beyond expectations making her an integral part of our team.
BAS CLERK/ADMINISTRATOR
Reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organised, Lisa brings a wealth of experience to her dual role as BAS Clerk and Office Administrator. With prior experience in public accounting roles and the family plumbing business ensures her skillset flows to both client and office operations alike. Lisa has a proven track record in BAS preparation and lodgement, and her deep understanding of compliance requirements makes her a trusted support for clients and colleagues alike. Combined with her excellent organisational skills and approachable nature, she is a vital part of both our team and our client experience.
Bookkeeper/BAS Agent
Peta joined the team in 2023, coming to us as a registered BAS Agent with experience in bookkeeping and BAS preparation.
Her role at Impact Accounting NQ is the preparation of our clients monthly and quarterly BAS & IAS preparation, bookkeeping and Xero software setup and general queries on the program.
She also assists in the preparation of our individual wage and salary clients.
Peta’s interest and earnest desire to learn has made her an integral part of our team.
Receptionist
Irene’s role at Impact Accounting NQ is that of reception and administration of the firm.
She joined the team in 2023, having previous experience in administration and other secretarial roles.
Irene has found a real interest in the accounting field and she can assist you with providing copies of documents, taking payments and invoice queries, notice of assessment and general tax return queries, ASIC company statement matters and ATO payment or account queries.
Irene’s personable and approachable manner is refreshing. She is the friendly face and voice you will first make contact with and an important and valuable part of our team.
Accountant
Hailing from the Netherlands with a degree equivalent to CA in Australia, Ilona has a strong background in audit and compliance having formerly worked for Ernst & Young. After relocating to Australia, she expanded her career working in accounting roles in local government, not-for-profit organisations, and small business. This experience now informs her holistic approach to client work—ensuring not only accurate reporting, but a strong foundation in financial reporting, taxation, and compliance. Ilona brings precision, professionalism, and a calm solutions -focused approach to every engagement making her a valued and key member of our senior accounting team.
Bas Clerk
A local with a young family, Cathryn comes to us with a Bachelor of Business – Human Resources Management. With a natural talent for numbers and a warm, professional approach to client service, she is a key part and valued member of our accounting team. With a keen eye for detail and a solid grasp of ATO compliance and Xero software, Cathryn handles everything from BAS and IAS lodgements to bank reconciliations, payroll support, software support and end of year STP, TPAR and Workcover obligations. Known for her friendly, no-fuss attitude, our clients can rest easy knowing their compliance is covered—and their numbers are in good hands.
Accountant Assistant (currently studying)
Mackenzie is a valued member of our team, working in a casual capacity while completing her Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting. Eager to learn and quick to adapt, she provides support to our Accountants, gaining hands-on experience to complement her studies. With a natural interest in numbers and a strong work ethic, Mackenzie brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to take on new challenges. As she continues her journey toward becoming a qualified accountant, we're proud to support her development and excited to see her skills grow.
Front Office Administration
A valued member of our team, Tash joined us as a school-based trainee during Year 12 and has since progressed into a full-time administration role. As the friendly first point of contact for our clients, she brings a calm, caring presence to the office and helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From managing appointments and directing enquiries to supporting the team with day-to-day administration, Tash plays an important role in our daily operations. A local with a strong work ethic and a quiet, reliable nature, she is an integral part of keeping our office organised and efficient. Tash is also considering further study in the future as she continues to grow in her career.
